As the author of The Indian Boss at Work: Thinking Global, Acting Indian (SAGE Publications), Steve has deeply examined the cultural underpinnings of Indian leadership and organisational behaviour, his writing and coaching help executives make sense of their context, inner drives, and roles, particularly in environments undergoing rapid transformation.
Steve’s approach is rooted in dialogic process work, archetypal inquiry, and experiential learning. He often draws from the Mahabharata, Indic wisdom, and systems thinking to illuminate leadership dilemmas, organisational dynamics, and the inner lives of professionals. His work involves developing frameworks linking startup growth with founder psyche, bridging Eastern archetypes with modern entrepreneurship.
With 18+ years at CHRO level, Steve has worked across a wide spectrum of enterprises, ranging from major global corporates (MNCs) to family-led professional businesses. He has diverse industry exposure that includes pharmaceuticals, office automation, FMCG, telecommunications, IT/ITES and alcohol beverage. His exposure spans across India as well as abroad. Steve was involved with Project Millennium at Unilever, India.
He helped in the M&A from single licence to national footprint across 23 circles in Vodafone India (earlier Hutch) also talent transformation across Global Technology while based in the UK. He was involved in pre-Jio launch and responsible for driving the people and organization strategy at Diageo India, and its integration with United Spirits.
