Mina Dilip is a certified Play Therapist from Leeds Beckett University, UK, and is also an accredited Sand Tray Therapist certified by the Sand Tray Training Institute of New Mexico, USA. She is a qualified supervisor in her field, offering supervision, guidance and mentorship services to other therapists.
Mina holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Madras University, and Diplomas in Child Psychology and Advanced Counseling Skills from Stonebridge Associated Colleges, UK. As one of the few fully certified and accredited Play Therapists in India, Mina works intensively with children as well as adults, offering psychotherapeutic services using non-directive play therapy at her private clinic in Nungambakkam, Chennai.
Mina also guides and supports parents on a regular basis. She offers parental coaching, and uses simple neuroscience concepts to focus on co-regulation to help parents build a secure connection with children. She is a consultant psychologist for CiC, UK and offers well-being supervision sessions for many of CiC’s clients in India and internationally. Mina has been associated with various educational institutions such as MOP Vaishnav College for Women, Montfort College, Bangalore and Spastics Society of Tamil Nadu for several years now, where she conducts training programs for students and staff in topics related to Psychology, Expressive Arts Therapy and Play Therapy.
Occasionally, Mina offers group counseling and stress management programs in the corporate sector, and has worked with MRF, HCL, Accenture, FedEx, R R Donnelley, Wells Fargo, Barclays Bank etc. She is registered with the Chennai Counselors’ Foundation (CCF) as an RPC member, and has recently been elected as the President of CCF. Mina writes articles and stories for magazines like Parent Circle and Woman’s Era. She enjoys dance and pets. Mina is married and has one teenaged son. Her passion is to guide people to lead happier, stress-free and more fulfilling lives using play and the expressive arts.
